Overview
This week long adventure includes two days on the Rocky Mountaineer, four nights in the Canadian Rockies and a five day full-size rental car with unlimited kilometres.
Pick up the car in Jasper, explore the Rockies then drop the car in Calgary before you fly home.
Spend a night at the Chateau Lake Louise, and, if you like to take pictures, think about getting up early to photograph the the sun rise, first on the glacier and then on the lake.
This Rail and Drive package begins with an overnight stay in Vancouver Mondays and Thursdays from April 26 to October 4, 2021. It also begins with a night in Calgary each Tuesday and Saturday from April 24 to October 2, 2021.
And consider extending your stay at the Chateau. There’s lots to do: hiking, exploring the Chateau itself, canoeing, relaxing in the splendid public rooms.
In Banff, we recommend a Bow River float during your free day. Getting out on the river gives you a chance to experience the wilderness, away from the crowds and you’ll have an opportunity to experience the serenity of nature in the Canadian Rockies.

Levels of Service
Rocky Mountaineer: SilverLeaf and GoldLeaf Service
- SilverLeaf Service – Reserved seating in a custom built single level car with expansive windows curving into the ceiling, hot breakfast and lunch served at your seat, as well as complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages during the day.
- GoldLeaf Service – Reserved seating in the GoldLeaf elevated dome car. Breakfast and lunch are served in the GoldLeaf dining car and GoldLeaf passengers have access to the outdoor viewing platform.
