There is one RV Park near downtown Vancouver. Actually it’s in North Vancouver, at the north end of the Lions Gate Bridge and right on the Capilano River. It’s popular, especially in summer, so make reservations as soon as you know when you want to stay.

Located on Howe Sound and close to highway 99, the Sea to Sky Highway that connects Vancouver and Whistler, Porteau Cove Provencial Park has waterfront campsites with a view of Howe Sound and the mountains.

Porteau Cove is popular not just because of its proximity to Vancouver but also because a ship has been sunk in the cove, and the ship attracts both humans and marine life. There are special facilities for divers.

Train tracks run next to the campground and in the summer, you can watch the Rocky Mountaineer Whistler train go by twice a day and freight trains go by both during the day and at night.

Porteau Cove has 44 vehicle accessible sites with electricity and 16 walk in sites.Reservations are recommended.
