Pacific Northwest Cuisine

Vancouver’s Pacific West Coast cuisine is a fusion of Asia, California and French that focuses on local seafood, meat and produce. The results are memorable.
West serves delicious, sophisticated food in an atmosphere to match. Diva at the Met, located in the Metropolitan hotel is one of the city’s best restaurants for Northwest cuisine.
Cactus Club, on English Bay, and Tangerine, just up the street from Kitsilano beach, have both food and location to recommend them.

2183 West 4th
A Vancouver institution and one of the best restaurants in town, situated on one of Vancouver’s most trendy streets.

Cactus Club Cafe
1790 Beach Avenue, and several other locations.
Cactus Club has grown over the years to become a successful casual restaurant chain serving not only Pacific Northwest food, but other good fare as well. The English Bay and in Coal Harbour locations are worth a visit for the views as well as for the food.

The Cascade Room
2616 Main St, Vancouver
This hip restaurant/bar is only open for dinner, but it stays open late. The great cocktails are a big draw for the mostly younger crowd.

3941 Main Street, Vancouver
Crave has a nice variety on the menu, from burgers to sable fish. The sticky toffee pudding is a treat. There’s a nice patio in the back.

Diva at the Met
645 Howe Street in the Metropolitan Hotel, Vancouver
Diva at the Met, located at Vancouver’s Metropolitan Hotel doesn’t get as much press as it deserves. Food here is worthy of its reputation.

1300 Robson Street, Vancouver
Forage, located in the Listel Hotel, is a recent arrival with an emphasis on local, innovative food. It sheds the insultingly high prices of many “top” Vancouver’s  restaurants, and proudly emphasizes zero waste.

The Teahouse
Ferguson Point, Stanley Park Drive, Vancouver
The Teahouse doesn’t serve High Tea, but it does serve very good food in a stunning location. With choices from AAA beef to salmon, this restaurant is worth a visit. Good service, too.

Raincity Grill
1193 Denman
Decent food, great fish and chips, great location just a block from the English Bay beach and Stanley Park.

2881 Granville Street (near 13th), Vancouver
Beautiful dishes, intense flavors and textures. If possible, sit where you can see the kitchen. The food tastes even better when you watch the painstaking work that goes into its preparation. Located on Art Gallery Row.
