Gotham Steakhouse, Morton’s of Chicago, and Hy’s Steakhouse are the three big name steak houses in Vancouver. Gotham Steakhouse and Morton’s of Chicago both sell USDA Prime beef while Hy’s Encore features AAA Alberta beef. All three restaurants offer large portions and the décor complements the menu: big, rich, and elegant. The menus at all three is a la carte so you order each item, including potatoes and vegetables, separately.
All three restaurants offer excellent appetizers, salads, vegetables, wines and desserts at prices comparable to other high end Vancouver restaurants.
Although it’s not a steakhouse, Chartwell, located in the Four Seasons Hotel, is the place many locals go for steak.
Along with these high end steak houses, we’ve listed The Keg, Pinky’s Steakhouse and Moxie’s Classic Grill. All three are popular, are more affordable than the top rated steakhouses and The Keg and Moxie’s have various locations around the city.
We’ve included Kobe Japanses Steak House in this list as well. At Kobe, your dinner is cooked at your table and while I like the food, I haven’t always been happy with the service.
