Vancouver Kids’ Bookstores and Vancouver Libraries

If you and your kids like books, you’ll love Vancouver. It has one of the best children’s book stores you’ll find anywhere.

The childrens book store, called KidsBooks, has two locations, one at 3083 West Broadway in Vancouver and one at 3040 Edgemont Blvd in North Vancouver’s Edgemont Village. The Vancouver KidsBooks is much bigger than the Edgemont store.

KidsBooks carries a huge selection of books for kids of all ages. It also has one of the best collections of stuffed animals, many of whom have books written about them.

Both stores are comfortable and fun to browse. There are places to sit and read with plenty of stuffed animals around waiting to hear a good story.

You can cal the Broadway KidsBooks at 604-738-5335
The Edgemont Village Store Number: 604-986-6190

Just a block from the Edgemont Village KidsBooks is North Vancouver Capilano Branch Public Library. It has been recently remodeled and the children’s section has been moved to the main floor and the collection expanded. This library is not large, but it is very comfortable with a great kids’ collection.

Downtown Vancouver Libraries

All 21 Vancouver libraries have children sections. The most convenient library, and the most beautiful, is the main library located right downtown at 350 West Georgia.

This 10,000 square foot space, located on the lower level of the library, is home to 44,000 books, 7000 paperbacks, 106 magazine subscriptions, 2600 videos and 2600 audio cassettes.

Besides books, the library also has, among other things, a Children’s Art Gallery, with new exhibits monthly, and Exploration Galleries, a Toddler Play area and a Kids’ Lounge.

If you happen to be on the North Shore and visit KidsBooks in Edgemont Village, you’ll find a wonderful children’s library upstairs in the Capilano Branch of the North Vancouver District Library System. The library is just two blocks from the Edgemont Village KidsBooks.
